| The
Barn
The "Barn" project
represents the "Mendocino Style", lots of redwood and hand joinery.
The building was built originally back in the late 1800's and used as
a sheep barn. At some time in its history, the interior floors were added,
using materials that had been salvaged from a local mill, intended for
flooring in railroad cars.
The entry was relocated to the east side, a separate office/TV room
was created, fully furnished kitchen complete with granite counters,
a large commercial range and two dishwashers was included.
The original redwood paneling was kept and a river rock fireplace was
installed to replace the existing brick, complete with custom stainless
steel doors and screen.
New windows and cedar shingle siding complete the package.
A landscaped maze was created outside, with paths to the basketball
court, bocce court and fire pit. A large deck overlooks the west yard
with ocean views.
A full and comprehensive project that will ensure its survival for at
least the next 100 years.
