| South
Caspar
This project started out as a remodel, but has
developed to be more new that old. The owners purchased a spectacular
ocean front lot in the established subdivision of South Casper,
on the Mendocino Coast. It is currently under construction with
a planned completion date of mid 2003.
Designed by Robert Ross Designs of Atlanta, Georgia,
it maximized its ocean view by the use of a steel frame on the
west side. This allows floor to ceiling Pozzi and Fleetwood windows.
A separate guest wing is on the east, connected
to the main structure by the guest gallery.
Exterior siding is a mix of redwood shingle and
2x6 t&g clear, all heart redwood, installed with no exposed
fasteners.
The interior will be trimmed out with custom milled
and painted hardwood. Floors are Harris Tarket prefinished hardwood
flooring, over hydronic heating. All counter tops will be granite
or marble installed on imported German cabinets. Each bath area
has its own tile and style.
The south side addition to the original structure
includes a studio and a master suite with wall to wall glass and
views. A Japanese soaking tub invites one to linger and relax.
This home will set a new level of finish detail
for the area.
